Our Database Admin Advisor Sensitive is responsible for supporting Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform administration and maintenance of business-critical Oracle databases including but not limited to; Database design, backup and recovery, capacity planning, security, preventative maintenance tasks, upgrades, patching, and ensuring compliance with strategies
  • Provides ongoing support in production by tracking and correcting production defects, implementing enhancements and on-call support.
  • Assist with development initiatives including stored procedure design and PL\SQL performance tuning
  • Design, build and support existing and new data mart/warehousing solutions to manage the companies growing data needs including ongoing ETL development and maintenance.
  • Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the business
  • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team
  • Assist in managing database compliance based on guidelines set forth by federal regulations
  • Assist in defining policies, standards, processes, and procedures relating to the company Databases and data management
  • Assist in the design and implementation of Database initiatives in regards to Corporate projects
  • Working closely with other team leads and their technical teams to ensure delivery of database services within the performance targets set.
  • Performs Project Management Tasks including estimating, status reporting and scope management.
  • Mentoring and knowledge transfer to other DBAs

Qualifications
 
Our qualified candidate will have a:
  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 10g and 11g and associated utilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills within the entire database environment.
  • At least 6 years, with 8+ years preferred of Information Systems Experience along with 5+ years in Database Administration/support in Oracle RDBMS 10g/11g in 24x7 production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Tuning utilizing stats pack and/or AWR
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle DataGuard within a  10g/11g environment
  • Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and strong understanding of PL/SQL and stored procedures/pkgs.
  • Strong Knowledge of DataWarehousing methodologies and experience with developing ETL processes utilizing UNIX shell scripting and Oracle solutions (sqlldr,external tables, etc.)
  • Strong Knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN.
  • Strong Knowledge of OEM/Oracle Grid for 10g.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix shell or Perl scripting languages. Knowledge of Solaris and/or AIX a plus.
  • Good knowledge of all the MS-Office Productivity Tools.
  • A customer-support focused attitude
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required
